$0.77 PONS, do you dare to bottom-fish?
Let's look at the surface: good news is everywhere, but prices have dropped by 25%.
On September 4, Uniswap Labs announced the purchase of PONS, surging 41.9% in a single day, setting a new all-time high; On September 5, OK launched perpetual contracts; On September 6, Binance also listed perpetual contracts; Market value once surged to $990 million—and then? It crashed from 0.97 back to 0.75, a 25% drawdown
First: You bought Uniswap Labs, but you might be cut off by the "positive news landing."
On September 4, Uniswap Labs publicly announced its purchase of PONS, with a single-day surge of 41.9%. The market interpreted this as "giants backing up," with retail investors frantically chasing the highs with FOMO
But Uniswap Labs just launched its own Launchpad product Pools on Robinhood Chain in early August, directly competing with Pons. A competitor turns around and buys your token; you might think it's "recognition," but could it just be a "strategic investment"?
The second thing: the fundamentals haven't changed, but the price has already been overdrawn in advance
24-hour revenue of $1.84 million, surpassing Pump.fun's $1.18 million; The platform's cumulative trading volume surpassed $5 billion, accounting for over 63% of Robinhood Chain Launchpad trading volume; Token creators' cumulative fee income exceeded $34 million; 29.34% of the total supply has been burned, and 80% of protocol revenue is used to buy back PONS
The flywheel is beautiful—fees → buyback→ burn→ deflation
Pons has been online for less than two months, rising from a few cents to 0.97, a monthly increase of over 2500%. No matter how good the fundamentals are, this kind of rally cannot withstand it
The third thing: a "time bomb" expiring on September 29
Robinhood Chain's current gas subsidy is expected to expire around September 29
If subsidies stop, can on-chain activities still maintain their current popularity?
If trading volume drops sharply, Pons' fee income will plummet, buyback efforts will weaken, and the price logic will loosen. It's not about "whether it will fall," but "how much it will fall."
Operational strategy
Short-term players:
Light positions at 0.72-0.75 test long positions, stop loss below 0.68, target rebound 0.85-0.88. Bears can wait for a rebound to near 0.85 before reconsidering
Swing traders:
If costs and launch volume do not shrink, a pullback is a better entry window; If meme popularity cools significantly or macro factors worsen, it may reprice below 0.50. Partial accumulation is better than one-time heavy positions
Long-term believers:
Wait until 0.6-0.65 before reconsidering. Pons' flywheel logic is sound, but a $1 billion market cap has already exhausted too much of expectations. True value investors won't chase high prices when the RSI is overbought
