10.23 Market Update | Intensified Divergence, Defense First
$BTC $80,000 Defense Battle
Current price around 81,400, overnight ETF net outflow of $635 million, the largest single-day outflow since June 25. 81,000 has shifted from support to resistance, with the first defense line below at 80,000—80,500. ETF cost basis is concentrated between 80,000—81,500, which is the bulls' bottom line. Failure to reclaim 82,000 means any rebound is a desperate escape wave.
$ETH Whales Are Buying
Repeated battles around 2,400. 133 whales increased holdings by over 426,000 coins, while three whales withdrew $60.68 million worth of ETH for staking. But RSI is only 42, +DI/-DI still dominated by bears, parabolic SAR pressing above 2,547. A break below 2,400 targets 2,300; only reclaiming 2,500 qualifies for talking about strength reversal.
$ZEC Long and Short Both Suffer
Intraday dropped from 1,355 to 1,188, a decline over 12%, then stabilized near 1,220. NU7 upgrade locked for November 5, block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, fundamentals advancing. But Grayscale ZCSH October redemptions about $115 million, open interest down 12.45% in one day, leverage actively retreating. 1,200 is the bottom line, 1,234—1,250 is rebound resistance, chasing highs before upgrade has very low cost-effectiveness. Macro pressure on BTC, ETH lacks buying power, ZEC is deleveraging.

The most expensive part of leverage isn't the interest, it's the waiting
I'm long on OKB, SOL, HYPE, betting on the time lag in value transmission
The most agonizing part of leverage isn't liquidation, it's when the logic is right but the price remains stagnant.
$OKB | Betting on scarcity
Hard cap + continuous burn + X Layer Gas, the supply side is "dead" enough. Leveraging long means exchanging position size for time, waiting for real usage to ignite scarcity.
$SOL | Betting on lag
RWA, payments, and institutional infrastructure are advancing, but on-chain activity and coin price have a disconnect. Leveraging long bets that application growth will eventually be recognized by price, but you have to endure the pullbacks.
$HYPE | Betting on buybacks
A large proportion of protocol fees are used for buybacks; the cash flow flywheel is real money. However, short-term chip distribution can be fiercer than buybacks, and leverage's biggest fear is turning "long-term correctness" into "short-term liquidation."
Common point among the three: fundamentals are not instantly redeemable; value transmission has a time lag.
So I go long, not because I blindly trust the candlesticks, but because I believe scarcity, growth, and cash flow will eventually be priced in. Leverage amplifies returns but also amplifies time cost. Faith lets me hold, discipline keeps me alive—leaving room in position size allows the logic to be realized.

Only after liquidation do you understand going long on BTC and ETH; I never use leverage over 5x
After three years of trading contracts, experiencing liquidation and holding positions, I finally realized: slow is fast.
Leverage is the brake, not the accelerator
With 3x leverage, liquidation only happens after a 30% drop. Leave yourself enough margin for error so you can still sleep when the market spikes. 5x is my limit; I don’t touch anything higher.
Only go long, because of conviction
BTC and ETH are the only assets I dare to buy more of as they drop. Small leverage longs are essentially trading time for space. Buy in batches when it falls, sell in batches when it rises, don’t guess tops or bottoms, just take the body of the fish.
Position management is more important than direction
Single position size never exceeds 10% of total capital. Always set stop-loss when opening a position; exit when triggered, no holding through losses, no averaging down. Survive to trade another day.
Mindset is the last moat
Look less at candlesticks, more at weekly charts. Small leverage longs fear frequent trading the most—fees eat profits, emotions cloud judgment.
My trading insight: the market is always there, but capital isn’t. Low leverage longs are my greatest respect for the market and my greatest kindness to myself.
Slow is faster. Let’s encourage each other.

Don't just focus on the Federal Reserve! Policy easing + US stock market crash
Policy stance vs US stocks dragging $BTC, $ETH pulled between two forces
Policy side: The long-term anchor is stabilizing. In early October, CFTC and SEC aligned their stance, basically recognizing that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are not securities. CFTC is simultaneously advancing rules for crypto market structure, focusing on margin and leveraged retail trading. This means the "regulatory securitization discount" on BTC/ETH is gradually narrowing, representing a medium-term underlying support that cannot be ignored.
US stock side: Short-term pressure is real. On October 22, Nasdaq plunged 2.60%, closing at 26,008.86, with tech stocks sold off heavily due to doubts about AI capital expenditure returns. Risk aversion spilled over directly: BTC fell below $81,000, down 3.76% in 24H; ETH dropped 4.12%. BTC’s pricing feature as a "Nasdaq high-beta extension" is extremely evident at this moment.
Capital signals need caution. On October 22, US Bitcoin spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $635 million in a single day, the largest single-day withdrawal since June. ETF funds and prices are highly synchronized; this "running before falling" divergence should not be ignored in the short term.
Attention needed: The next key milestone is the Federal Reserve decision on October 28.

Liquidations hit $431 million! Is SOL being dragged down, or is HYPE the real problem?
In the past 24 hours, the entire network saw liquidations exceeding $431 million, with longs accounting for nearly 60%, a familiar bloody scene. But don't blame the entire market—SOL is "being dragged down," while HYPE is "having internal issues."
Macro triggers pulled the trigger
US inflation continues to exceed expectations, casting doubt on the Fed's rate cut path in November and December. The dollar and US Treasury yields surged simultaneously, triggering defensive deleveraging in global risk assets. Coupled with escalating Middle East tensions and sell-offs in AI concept stocks, the crypto market took the brunt.
$SOL's positive news drowned out by macro factors
Yesterday, Alpenglow upgraded its mainnet, reducing confirmation time from 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds, cutting validator costs by 60%, solidly improving fundamentals. However, ETF funds have fled for ten consecutive days, with weekly outflows hitting a record high, and the price is firmly pressed at 102.24—can it hold?
$HYPE sold off by "insiders"
HYPE dropped 9% this week, while BTC only fell 2%. The HYPE/BTC rate plummeted 7.1% in a week, breaking below 100,000 sats for the first time, a typical "internal selling pressure" signal, not market drag. The deeper reason: CFTC opened US perpetual contract trading, with compliant platforms like Kalshi and Coinbase entering directly, shaking Hyperliquid's monopoly narrative. The price has fallen from around 78.

One night of "scam pump" One bullish candle lures you in, one bearish candle buries you completely
⚡Yesterday: The rise was tempting
Tech stock earnings ignited the market, SpaceX revenue surged 161%, fully boosting risk appetite. BTC surged from 83,000 to around 84,800, ETH was even stronger, with intraday gains reaching 4%, reclaiming above 2,500. On the surface, it looked like bulls were back, but on-chain data tells the truth: nearly 69% of ETH's recent surge was short covering, essentially a short squeeze plus staking lock-up, with no real new spot buying.
💥Today: The fall was silent
After Tesla and Meta earnings, AI investment concerns reignited, Nasdaq futures plunged, dragging the crypto market down. BTC dropped over $2,000 within six hours, falling back near 82,000; ETH plunged from 2,526 to 2,432, with about $90.67 million liquidated in 24 hours. In the last 4 hours, over 95% of BTC liquidations were longs—those chasing the rally became fuel for this on-chain liquidation.
😐Now: The sideways move is paralyzing
$BTC stuck near 82,500, $ETH oscillating around 2,430, with both longs and shorts liquidated across the network in 24 hours—longs at 165 million, shorts at 188 million. Chasing longs gets buried, chasing shorts gets swept, a classic two-way squeeze.

10.22 Crash Review: It's not the crypto market collapsing on its own, macro factors have sucked the oxygen out
$BTC lost 83,000, $ETH dropped back to 2438, but today's blame isn't on-chain, it's on the macro triple kill:
Sticky inflation + interest rate hike expectations reversal. September CPI year-on-year at 3.7%, higher than expected, 10-year US Treasury yield surged to 5.3%. With the risk-free rate here, why would capital play with non-yielding assets?
AI profit-taking + geopolitical knife. Tech stocks' earnings missed expectations, global funds sold off AI concepts, risk appetite instantly shrank; Middle East tensions pushed oil prices up, risk assets "fall first as a sign of respect."
ETF bleeding, ETH takes the brunt. Ethereum spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $1.08 billion in October, the largest monthly outflow this year, almost wiping out September inflows; BTC ETFs also had a net outflow of about $67 million this month.
Derivatives amplify the decline. 24-hour total network liquidations around $269 million to $300 million, with 97% in the last hour being leveraged longs forcibly liquidated. The chain of liquidations triggered by price drops and further liquidations pushing prices down is very clear.
Author's view: Now is not the time to be stubborn. BTC first needs to hold 82,000, ETH needs to see if ETF funds show signs of stopping the bleeding. FOMC is next week; before macro conditions improve, leveraged longs are the first to be cleaned out. Preserve principal, wait for selling pressure to digest before looking for structure.

$BTC This rebound is as fierce as an elevator suddenly going up
There are roughly two reasons:
First: The previous shakeout was so intense that it made you doubt your life, stop-losses stopped out, and people got off the bus. When the main force stepped on the gas, they found there were hardly any people left on board.
Second: After falling for so long, the rebound is weak and soft. Many people opened short positions early, muttering "75,000 will be seen." But when the main force pulls up, all the short stop-losses turn into buying fuel, accelerating directly tonight. The shorts have more fuel than a gas station.
So the question is:
Which type are you?
Have you already been shaken off the bus, or are you trembling on it?
Are you shorting or watching?
I guess there aren't many going long; even if they do, most likely they can't hold on—not because the direction is wrong, but because they don't understand the logic, and leverage sends you away first.
My summary: Few bulls, crowded shorts, when the main force pulls, shorts become fuel; retail panics, and positions get liquidated first.

250 coins vs 88,987 coins Strategy hits the brakes while the whale hits the gas
The CLARITY Act procedural vote in the Senate failed 49:50, with prediction markets pricing the probability of passage in 2026 at only about 5%. There are 7 vacant commissioner seats combined between the SEC and CFTC, effectively stalling congressional legislation. However, on October 1, the SEC proposed a custody framework allowing advisors to hold crypto assets through state trust companies—without laws, regulation is "filling the gap" with rules, which is less certain but more flexible.
Bitcoin Amsterdam 2026 just concluded, with organizers clearly bringing banks, funds, and policymakers to the same table; today, the CEO of Twenty One Capital spoke at the Plan B Forum on "Building the Bitcoin Operating Company," signaling clearly that corporate engagement with Bitcoin is shifting from "financial reserve" to "operating entity."
Strategy's weekly purchase was only 250 coins, the lowest this year; October ETF net outflows were about $67.41 million, and corporate buying slowed simultaneously. But Santiment shows that in the past month, wallets holding 10–10,000 BTC have increased their holdings by 88,987 coins against the trend, with total holdings reaching a six-month high; the proportion of short-term holders dropped to 16%, the lowest since January 2023.
