Hold patiently or just endure the position? Ask yourself three questions
These two may look similar, but their essence is very different. My judgment criteria are just three questions:
First, is the original reason for buying still valid? I buy $BTC because of the halving cycle and institutional entry; the logic hasn't changed, so if it drops, it's called patience. I buy a certain altcoin because it’s supposed to get listed on a major exchange, but if it doesn’t, and the reason is gone yet I still hold, that’s just enduring the position.
Second, am I still willing to add to my position? For truly promising assets, I dare to add when the price drops. If I just want to play dead and avoid looking at my account when it falls, it means I’ve lost confidence—that’s enduring the position.
Third, have I secretly adjusted my stop-loss? This is the most honest signal. When the stop-loss level keeps getting lowered, changing from "sell if it breaks down" to "wait and see," no doubt, you are enduring the position.
Patience is an active choice; enduring the position is passive avoidance. Patient people have a plan; those enduring rely on hope.
Holding $BTC spot through a bear market is patience. Holding on at the edge of liquidation in futures contracts without admitting defeat is gambling with your life.

SpaceX ($SPCX) will release its first full quarterly report after going public on October 20 after market close. Wall Street expects revenue of about $12.9 billion and EPS of $0.14, turning positive year-over-year. But the market is really focused not on this quarter's numbers, but on two things: whether Starlink can continue to sustain profits, and how far Starship is from "catching the spacecraft."
Starlink's revenue last quarter was $4.3 billion, with subscription users reaching 12 million, a record net increase of 1.7 million in a single quarter, but ARPU dropped from $85 to $66. Growth relies on low-price market penetration; whether profits can keep up will be tested this quarter.
On the Starship side, the 14th flight just completed its first orbit and deployed 26 V3 satellites, but whether the 15th flight can use the launch tower's mechanical arm to "catch" the spacecraft is the key step Elon Musk referred to as "complete recovery of an orbital-class rocket." Evercore believes reuse could be proven within the next few flights without waiting for thousands of launches, but Morgan Stanley warns that the first few V3 test flights had engine issues, so the 15th flight may not dare to attempt recovery directly.
$BTC is unrelated to this wave of AI aerospace narratives and remains around 80,000, pressured by inflation and interest rate expectations, each going their own way.
