Q: SK Hynix's Q3 earnings report is coming out. Can HBM4 directly drive profitability?
A: In the short term, the main profit driver for Q3 is not HBM4, but rather HBM3E combined with the general DRAM price increase. HBM4 is still in the customer certification and capacity ramp-up phase, with limited shipments, contributing weakly to this quarter's profits.
Q: Then what is the value of HBM4?
A: It is a core driver in the mid to long term, with significant improvements in bandwidth and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation. It is tied to NVIDIA's new generation AI chips, giving it stronger premium potential. Shipments will gradually increase starting in Q4, supporting subsequent profit margin growth.
Q: Are there any risks?
A: The competitive pressure is considerable. Samsung's HBM4 yield is catching up quickly, which will squeeze market share; moreover, the pace of customer certification and long-term contract pricing negotiations may affect the realization schedule. We cannot expect HBM4 alone to immediately ignite Q3 performance.
Google surges 82% but drags down the market? Bitcoin falls below 81,000, AI money burn to blame!
Google Cloud's Q2 revenue soared 82%, with backlog reaching 514 billion, which looks impressive. But behind the bright numbers, capital expenditure skyrocketed to 44.9 billion, and free cash flow turned negative. The market immediately rejected this, fearing overinvestment, and the stock dropped over 3% after the earnings report.
This macro risk-off sentiment quickly spread to the crypto market. Bitcoin responded by falling below 81,000, dipping as low as 80,514, currently priced at 80,831.
Looking at the 15-minute chart, the price is now tightly suppressed by the MA20 (80,860). Although KDJ is oversold and turning up, the overall pattern remains weak and volatile.
My response is simple: macro funds are pulling back, so absolutely no catching falling knives on the left side. Watch the support at the previous low of 80,514; if it doesn't hold, there's a high chance of further decline. No buying without volume and stabilization.
This tech giant's "AI computing power gamble," do you think it can save the US stock market or drag the whole market down? Did you buy the dip in Bitcoin this time? Let's discuss in the comments.
Geopolitical tensions suddenly escalate, the 80,000 mark is lost, and long positions liquidated for 700 million!
The root cause of this sharp drop lies in the Middle East.
According to foreign media reports, the U.S. is accelerating the evacuation of personnel from the Middle East due to threats from Iran, and Trump has even threatened military action. The Strait of Hormuz shipping was attacked, oil prices soared, and global risk aversion sentiment instantly surged. Coupled with the approaching FOMC and continuous ETF outflows, risk assets are under comprehensive pressure.
Look at this brutal liquidation data: in the past 24 hours, the entire network liquidated 840 million USD, with long positions accounting for a full 700 million. 222,000 people were forcibly liquidated, with the largest single liquidation on Binance ETH, reaching 11.85 million USD.
On the market: BTC directly smashed through 80,000, hitting a low of 79,168, currently around 79,535, with short-term support below at 79,450. ETH is even worse, directly dropping to 2,281, currently around 2,288. The previous long leverage was too crowded; once geopolitical risk fermented, it triggered a chain stampede.
Practical trading insight: sell-offs triggered by geopolitical conflicts often involve emotionally driven overselling, but the damage from leveraged liquidations is real and substantial. Catching a falling knife now is just giving away your head; wait for the situation to clarify and the right side to stabilize before acting.
Let's talk about a common technical misunderstanding: volume contraction.
$BTC's trading volume has shrunk to an absurdly low level these days, hovering almost motionless around 80,000. Many people behind the scenes tell me, "The sell orders have dried up, it's the bottom."
Stop right there. Volume contraction means completely different things depending on the context. During an uptrend, a volume contraction on a pullback is called holding back sales—buyers are still present; during a downtrend, volume contraction with sideways movement often means buyers have simply left—no one is taking the orders, which doesn't mean no one wants to sell, just that no one is willing to act at this price level for now. A platform with light trading volume can be either accumulation or a pause before distribution; volume alone cannot determine this.
The real bottom is hammered out with high volume and then never makes a new low again—not this lukewarm, tepid action. Mistaking volume contraction for a bottom before the trend is complete is a tuition fee retail investors pay every cycle.
$ETH $BTC $SOL Brothers, the cruelest thing in the crypto world is never missing out on the market, but losing your principal overnight after half a year of accumulation.
$IRYS caught many off guard in this wave of market movement, with 90,000 U liquidated. Many predicted a pullback after a surge and chose to short, but the price kept rising to 0.4, crushing all shorts. Such an extreme one-sided market is not something ordinary traders can easily handle.
Looking at $ETH, I also chose to accept losses and exit these past two days. The box support has broken, the rebound strength remains weak, no clear upside is visible, but the downside chip support still needs further testing. The Fed rate decision on the 29th is approaching, which could trigger a large volatility wave at any time, maximizing uncertainty.
Small funds can't withstand continuous large losses. Rather than forcibly betting on market direction, it's better to prioritize preserving principal.
$NVDA $INTC Brothers, the super market week is coming next week, here is a summary of the major events for everyone!
First, on Wednesday next week, watch SK Hynix's earnings report, the first shot fired in the storage sector.
The key is Thursday next week, basically don't sleep tonight:
At 2 AM, the Federal Reserve interest rate decision; at 2:30 AM, Powell's speech, this is the biggest bombshell of the week.
After 4 AM, Google and Microsoft release earnings reports, focus on AI capital expenditure and information flow advertising data, which directly affect computing power and the AI sector.
Then there are earnings reports from storage companies.
At 8:30 PM, the US September PCE inflation data will be released.
At 4 AM on Friday next week, Amazon, Intel, and Nvidia earnings reports come in succession, plus the Reserve Bank of New Zealand interest rate decision.
Tech earnings, storage cycle, and Federal Reserve policy are all tied together with strong linkage, so volatility will be very high.
📉 The early session wiped out the bulls, and on-site funds began to diverge sharply
After a sharp drop in the morning cleared out the bulls, the market fell into a stagnant slight ripple, but the actions of large funds were extremely fragmented.
BTC near 80900, selling pressure is emerging. On-chain data shows that a whale transferred a large amount of chips to the exchange, indicating increased supply above. On the macro side, US chip stocks weakened, coupled with the approaching FOMC, institutions are extremely cautious.
ETH near 2382, struggling weakly. Following the market dip, the strength of fund support is average, lacking the confidence to strengthen independently.
ZEC near 1180, attracting funds against the trend. Although it dropped nearly 5%, the spot ETF surprisingly had a net inflow of over 20 million in a single day, and a whale opened a multi-million long position. This indicates that amid panic, funds are seeking defensive assets with independent narratives.
Practical trading insight: The early session spike was a shakeout, but the subsequent volume contraction is the real test. The market lacks money, so funds can only cluster locally. Don't blindly bottom-fish weak altcoins; observe the main force's defensive direction before acting.
Ethereum ($ETH) Market Daily Report|October 24
Friends, there’s not much market activity over the weekend, so take a good rest. Keep your ammunition reserved; the outlook for mainstream currencies remains bearish for now, with a target around 2200.
【Technical Analysis】
Short-term support: 2352
Second support: 2328
First resistance: 2430
Second resistance: 2475
【Funds & Contracts】
24-hour trading volume is relatively low, and market sentiment is subdued. ETH spot ETFs have seen a continuous slight outflow of funds recently, with institutional capital remaining cautious; the difference between long and short positions in perpetual contracts is minimal, with no extreme crowded positions, limited liquidation amounts, and no concentrated one-sided clearing. Funding rates remain low, with no strong bullish or bearish sentiment.
【News & Macro】
On the macro side, US Treasury yields remain high, suppressing high-risk assets, which is the core reason for ETH’s recent weakness; there are no new catalysts related to Ethereum upgrades for now, staking outflows have slowed, but on-chain fees and activity have not shown significant recovery. The market closely follows the Nasdaq index, and fluctuations in external stock markets quickly transmit to ETH.
$BTC Chinese prosecutors want to confiscate Bitcoin worth about $5.7 billion involved in the case
A major case has uncovered a large amount of Bitcoin lying in the UK.
According to reports, the case involves illegal fundraising from 2014 to 2017: raising over 40.3 billion yuan, more than 100,000 investors, with losses close to 20 billion yuan
The main culprit later fled to the UK, where over 61,800 Bitcoins were seized; Tianjin court accepted the confiscation application on October 13, opening a 6-month declaration period
A few days ago, the UK High Court ruled: victims' claims to these coins are subject to Chinese law
Who these coins ultimately belong to is still up for debate. Do you think they should be returned to the victims or to the state?
Bitcoin - Cryptocurrency - Regulation - Fraud #SKhynixQ3HBM4Earnings
SK Hynix Q3 earnings report is imminent, can HBM4 boost profitability?
SK Hynix is about to release its Q3 earnings report. In the short term, HBM4 is unlikely to be the core driver of profitability this quarter. Although HBM4 shipments started in Q2, Q3 is still in the capacity ramp-up and customer validation phase, with limited shipment volume and a low proportion of overall revenue. The high premium benefits have not yet been fully realized. The main support for this quarter's performance remains the mature and volume-growing HBM3E, combined with the market benefits brought by price increases in DRAM and NAND.
The value of HBM4 is more reflected in the medium to long-term logic. Compared to HBM3E, it offers significantly improved bandwidth and energy efficiency, and has secured long-term supply agreements with several leading AI customers. It is the main product for connecting to the next-generation AI chip platforms. As yield continues to improve and orders gradually increase in Q4, HBM4's profit contribution will noticeably rise, widening the product gap with competitors.
At the same time, risks cannot be ignored. Samsung and Micron are also advancing HBM4 mass production simultaneously, intensifying market competition and suppressing premium space; yield fluctuations, delays in customer certification, and reduced capital expenditure by cloud providers could disrupt the volume ramp-up rhythm. Overall, Q3 profitability depends on existing HBM3E and the storage cycle price increases. HBM4 is more of a market expectation theme and a key variable for future profit growth, rather than a strong boost for this quarter's performance.
