Solana's first Alpenglow mainnet phase makes the 150ms finality target worth watching, especially against the prior ~12.8-second benchmark. Faster confirmation could make trading and settlement more practical, but a target is not evidence of durable demand.
The real test is whether mainnet performance holds as applications roll out and liquidity follows.
