About LiquidEmergencyPatch
Liquid Network released Elements v23.3.4 on Sept 9, patching a proof verification cache bug. Functionary nodes are upgrading. Recovery runs in three stages: resume block production while pegs stay paused, re-execute verified transactions, then reopen pegs once network state is confirmed. Stages one and two are in parallel testing. An attacker had exploited the bug to mint unbacked L-BTC and swap out roughly 4,000 BTC. About 3,400 has been returned; 598.5 BTC remains outstanding.

600 $BTC is still sitting at the center of a major crypto security story.
Blockstream has reportedly refused a ransom demand for the remaining Bitcoin connected to the liquid exploit.
This is another reminder that blockchain transactions leave a trail.
Attackers may move or hide funds.
But, the public nature of many blockchains means those movements can continue to be monitored long after the exploit.
Crypto security isn't just about stopping the hack.
It's also about what happens afterward

🚨 LIQUID NETWORK UPDATE:$ZEC Liquid Network has resumed block production after a major exploit, while peg-outs remain frozen as the ecosystem works through the incident

UPDATE: Blockstream says it will not pay a ransom for the return of funds stolen from the Liquid Network, calling the theft "a crime, not responsible disclosure" and "not white-hat activity."

#LiquidEmergencyPatch Liquid's recovery is now less about fixing code and more about restoring trust 👀
The v23.3.4 patch fixes the verification bug, while recovery is being staged before pegs reopen. Roughly 3,400 of the exploited 4,000 BTC has returned, but 598.5 BTC remains outstanding.
What caught my attention is the cautious restart.
In crypto infrastructure, recovery isn't complete when blocks resume. It's complete when users trust the peg again.
BTC: Reports suggest around 4,000 BTC were stolen overnight, with losses exceeding $320 million. Could this trigger a deeper correction?
BTC has already dipped today—could this news be the catalyst? I’m hoping for a pullback in $ZEC and $NEAR as well, giving me a chance to recover some losses and finally take a break from the market. 🤞

🚨 Liquid Network Reports 4,000 BTC Exploit
Liquid Network has reportedly suffered an exploit involving around 4,000 BTC, with network activity later halted. The attackers claim to be white hats and say the funds could be recovered after the bugs are fixed. However, Ledger’s CTO and others have questioned this narrative, citing similarities to the Ronin hack.

JUST IN: $320M Bitcoin FÖRSVANN Idag - 4 000 BTC Stulna, Nätverket STÄNGDES NER
🚨 EVERYONE IS WATCHING BTC. FEW ARE WATCHING THE INFRASTRUCTURE.
$BTC rejected $81K for the third time this month, but the bigger story may be elsewhere.
Liquid Network reportedly suffered a $320M loss and experienced a freeze, with attackers claiming they were acting as “the good guys.”
Price can recover quickly.
But when the pipes break, rebuilding trust takes much longer. 👀

The Liquid incident is bigger than a $320M hack.
The attacker reportedly exploited an Elements vulnerability to create unauthorized L-$BTC , then redeemed it through a process that appeared legitimate.
Multisig, whitelisting and valid signatures all worked as designed but the system accepted a counterfeit asset as real.
Nearly 4,000 BTC were withdrawn, representing over 90% of Liquid’s reported reserves.
The real question is not who had the keys.

🚨 BREAKING: $320M WORTH OF BTC MOVED IN LIQUID NETWORK HACK! 😳
Around 4,000 BTC was reportedly withdrawn from Liquid Network’s federation wallet.
⚠️ Important: Bitcoin itself was NOT hacked. The incident involved Liquid’s separate infrastructure.
Crypto traders: watch your risk and avoid panic selling. 👀
