The US dollar strengthens, putting pressure on the crypto market! Don't rush to bottom-fish in the short term 🔥
$BTC has fallen from 84231 to 81018, currently rebounding to 82828, unable to hold the 83000 level.
$ETH also directly broke below 2500, with a high of 2575 dropping to 2411, now recovering to 2488.
$HYPE is even more volatile, with the price dropping from 88 to 79.52, a nearly 14% pullback in one week. The gains from the past month were mostly given back in just a few days.
This decline is not just a normal technical correction. The US dollar index remains strong, and US Treasury yields are rising, suppressing valuations of all risk assets. Crypto, being highly elastic, bears the selling pressure first.
However, there is also long-term capital positioning. Strategy continues to increase BTC holdings during the downturn, holding large amounts of cash to keep accumulating. In the medium to long term, if stablecoin accounting rules are implemented, corporate willingness to allocate stablecoins will increase.
But in the short term, the market still depends on the US dollar and US Treasury yields.
Operationally, be patient and wait for two signals: US Treasury yields and the US dollar peak and start to fall + BTC stabilizes above 84000. Without these signals, blindly bottom-fishing is just impatience, not seizing an opportunity. #9月CPI公布在即,哈玛克称仍需进一步加息 #台积电Q3营收创新高,盈利表现待揭晓 #BTC与ETH现货ETF同步流出,机构需求转弱了吗?
⚠️ Personal market view, not investment adviceSK Hynix's drop this week is making people question their sanity. Today, it plunged directly to 1077 during the session, down nearly 22% from the high of 1386 just over a week ago. The South Korean stock market even triggered a circuit breaker today, with the KOSPI index plummeting over 6%.
What exactly happened? China ChangXin Memory Technologies dropped a “technology bomb.” Over the weekend, ChangXin announced a key breakthrough in its 4F² architecture DRAM and expects to launch a new generation DDR5 RDIMM product by the end of the year. This architecture can pack more storage units into a single chip, directly threatening SK Hynix’s high-margin DRAM foundation.
Since September, foreign investors have net sold more than 22 trillion KRW combined in SK Hynix and Samsung, with about 72% of that hitting SK Hynix. The foreign ownership ratio of SK Hynix has fallen to 49.59%, staying below 50% for eight consecutive trading days.
Broadcom CEO Chen Fuyang publicly compared many AI investors to “casino gamblers,” and Intel’s CEO also warned that financing costs are rising. The market is beginning to question whether AI capital expenditures can be sustained.
What to expect in the next two days? SK Hynix has entered an extremely oversold zone, with both RSI and MFI showing red flags. But oversold doesn’t mean an immediate rebound; the inertia of foreign capital selling remains. The key support below is at 1067-1050, which is the last short-term defense line. The resistance above is at 1120-1150, and the probability of encountering resistance in this range during a rebound is high.
Final advice: don’t rush to bottom-fish just because it has dropped a lot; the negative factors are not yet fully out. When the trend is downward, all rebounds could be bull traps. $ETH Tomorrow night, ETH is very likely to remain in a weak consolidation phase, possibly with a small rebound, but the overall environment does not support a big surge.
Core factors affecting tomorrow's trend:
First major risk: CPI data
This is the most important short-term variable. The market expects the September CPI year-on-year to rebound from 3.4% to 3.6%, mainly because oil prices have surged too much. If the data really exceeds expectations, the market will immediately increase bets on a December rate hike. As the dollar rises, BTC and ETH will continue to be suppressed.
Fed hawkish stance: follow-up on Waller's remarks
Waller previously clearly stated that if the data meets expectations, rates still need to be further raised. Cleveland Fed President Harker said on Monday that inflation expectations have early warning signals. These hawkish statements, combined with rising oil prices, form the core logic suppressing ETH.
Capital flow: ETH is being wildly sold off
Ethereum spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $542 million last week. Meanwhile, wallets related to the Ethereum Foundation and F2Pool co-founder are transferring coins to exchanges, making on-chain selling pressure very clear.
Before the CPI data is released tomorrow night, ETH is very likely to consolidate with low volume between $2400 and $2600. After the data comes out, if CPI exceeds expectations, a further drop to the $2400 support level cannot be ruled out; if the data is below expectations, there will be an emotional rebound, but the overall liquidity outflow environment makes it difficult for ETH to reverse immediately. In the short term, focus on two points: whether $2500 can hold, and whether ETF funds continue to flow out. #9月CPI公布在即,哈玛克称仍需进一步加息 [Old Chive Observation] $CYBER Medium Risk
CYBER's funds have clearly become active this round. On October 12, the price closed around $0.3685, with a single-day trading volume of about $38.3 million, significantly higher than the previous two days. However, the intraday high reached $0.4105, indicating considerable selling pressure above.
Next, focus on the $0.378 and $0.40 levels. Whether it can break through with increased volume again will determine if there is room for further gains. There is also a token unlock tomorrow; the scale is not particularly large, but short-term supply impact should be watched.

A few days ago, SpaceX spent about $8 billion to acquire wireless spectrum, preparing to further expand Starlink Mobile, which has shaken up the global telecom industry
Several major US telecom giants were quite scared, and even telecom stocks in Australia and New Zealand suffered
Logically, the story of SpaceX's business expansion should be big enough, right?
But SPCX's price just doesn't buy it
The recent rebound peaked near 167, then dropped back to around 162
I previously shorted near 175, planning to take the first profit at 160 and the second at 150; now I'm not far from the first target
Of course, after such a drop, I don't want to keep shorting at low levels
First, let's see if 160 can hold, then decide how to proceed
Good news is good news, but if the price doesn't rise, it just doesn't rise; there's really no point in arguing about it

#波动雷达:币种异动观察 $BTC The 1-hour chart shows the price hugging the upper Bollinger Band. This midday rebound has seen consecutive bullish closes, with the close reaching over 90% within the band. The upper Bollinger Band is resisting around 84,000, and the price has been sticking close to it. Just now, looking at the 5-minute chart, the Bollinger Bands have tightened significantly. Short-term volume is about half of what it was earlier, and the price is moving sideways within a narrow range.
When the price hit the 84,000 resistance on the 4-hour chart, it startled me. This level was tested twice before but failed to hold above it. Looking at the 4-hour and daily charts, the Bollinger Bands are actually narrowing. The daily band width has dropped to a very low percentile, indicating no breakout on the higher timeframe. Overall, the market is still within a large consolidation range without a clear trend.
Without a breakout on the higher timeframe, it’s tough to hold the 1-hour upper band resistance. Buying momentum on the 5-minute chart has slowed down, and there aren’t enough follow-up orders. I am bearish on the upcoming movement. The current price just touched the 84,000 resistance on the 4-hour chart, facing heavy overhead resistance. If there isn’t enough volume to push through here, the market will likely reverse and pull back.

#BTC与ETH现货ETF同步流出,机构需求转弱了吗? This is a relatively cautious BTC short-term long plan. The key is not to chase Bitcoin just because it has risen, but to wait until the price stabilizes at $83,500–$83,700 and confirm a breakout above $83,800 with accompanying volume.
1. Breakdown of the trading plan
BTC quoted at $83,647 in the text
Reported increase of +2.19% in the text; these are data provided by the post and are not real-time verified quotes.
Entry range: $83,500–$83,700
Wait for a pullback to hold the range, rather than buying just because the price touches the range.
Confirmation condition: stabilize above $83,800 with increased volume
If it only briefly breaks through and immediately falls back, it may be a false breakout; increased volume also needs to be judged in conjunction with whether the price can hold.

BTC is the ballast stone of the overall market, ETH represents the liquidity level of the DeFi ecosystem, and the price fluctuations of AAVE directly reflect the market's willingness to borrow and leverage. Looking at the price changes of a single coin alone can easily lead to misjudgment; combining the three makes it easier to identify whether leveraged funds in the market are continuously entering or just engaging in short-term speculation.

While waiting outside the office building for orders, I scanned the liquidation chart; the current price around 0.2462 is a tug of war between bulls and bears. There is heavy liquidation pressure on long positions at the 0.2434 level, and short positions pile up even more above 0.256. If the price tries to push directly upward, it will be suppressed by liquidation pressure, but the short-term moving averages still maintain an upward trend.
Operationally, focus on buying the dip, with an entry range between 0.2390 and 0.2420, and a stop loss at 0.2340. The first take profit target is 0.2550, and only after a volume breakout should you look at 0.2680. On the daily chart, there are still two moving averages pressing down above, and the key level around 85,000 is the most critical point ahead. Brothers, after carefully reviewing this sharp rally of CFX, this new main force really has some skills, extremely cautious!
Why do I say that? Just look at the timing of their entry. They stubbornly held position for a full two hours, staying around 0.05778 without moving. Only after confirming that the overall market (BTC around 83600) sentiment was completely stable and no longer dipping, did the main force decisively ignite, exploding volume in 1 minute to 0.05944.
This "no rabbit, no hawk release" approach shows the main fund is sizable and highly values certainty. They waited for the market to stabilize before acting, to avoid being dragged down by market sentiment or to leverage the market momentum for greater effect. Such patience is definitely not that of retail investors.
However, brothers, don’t get carried away chasing highs now! The 1-minute K-line took off vertically, and KDJ is already seriously overbought (K:88.5), so short-term profit-taking and shakeout are inevitable.
Since we’ve confirmed the new main force is supporting the market and has a steady pattern, our strategy is: patiently wait for a pullback. ETH is at 2503.60, down 0.28%, yet more resilient than Bitcoin. After breaking 2500, there are signs of position rotation: a whale sold 410 BTC and bought $36 million worth of ETH, with Ethereum temporarily outperforming Bitcoin. The liquidation line for the big player is at 2473, and the current price of 2503 is still holding. It has been liquidated 7 times in 10 hours but hasn't given up, with leverage trading maxed out. Because of the higher leverage, CPI's impact on ETH might be greater than on BTC.
SOL is at 109.44, down 0.95%, "playing dead" around 109. Solana remains the weakest among the three, with the least rebound. Large funds are moving to Bitcoin; the positive news about Solana tokenized stocks has already been priced in, and there is no new catalyst before CPI. Although liquidity during the day is better than at night, the direction still depends on the data.
RE is at 0.44310, down 0.33%, lying flat at 0.44. The logic behind DeFi insurance and small RWA is ignored; after losing 0.5, it only fluctuates narrowly and sees no interest during the day.
Currently, ETH is holding up through position rotation and leverage, SOL is waiting for catalysts, and RE is neglected. The market has no answers and is all waiting for CPI.
This article is for market analysis only and does not constitute investment advice. After ETH rebounds, I still expect a pullback. I feel the 2400 level for Ethereum will be broken sooner or later. We tried going long between 2370-2400 but missed it; the lowest pullback was just above 2400. Let's wait and see if it can break the previous high around 84400, near 2580 for Ethereum. If it can't break through, short it, or if there's a sudden rebound with a false breakout at this resistance, wait for a pullback here before shorting. For long positions, continue to wait for another pullback to see if it can break around 2400. If it holds here, you can continue going long.Last night after the US market opened, $ETH dealt a surprise blow to the bulls, dropping over 100 points straight down to around 2407.

Those who dared to bottom-fish yesterday might not have held on, and probably few who chased shorts slept soundly!
This round of decline was accompanied by obvious volume expansion, and the subsequent rebound also saw increased trading volume, indicating strong support at the lows.
ETH long positions lurking around 2490 successfully caught the rebound, currently floating profits have nearly doubled. The KDJ J value has surged to around 117, indicating short-term overheating, so take partial profits first and keep an eye on whether 2550 can be broken through. $BTC $ZEC #9月CPI公布在即,哈玛克称仍需进一步加息 This post is satirizing a phenomenon in the cryptocurrency community: when Bitcoin rises, bulls are praised as geniuses; when Bitcoin falls, bears are hailed as prophets; no matter the market, someone always manages to explain the outcome as if they had predicted it all along.
The author contrasts two people with clear stances:
Peter Schiff: a long-time critic of Bitcoin, believing it has bubble characteristics.
Michael Saylor: a long-time Bitcoin optimist, viewing it as a long-term store of value and one of the options for corporate asset allocation.
Therefore, the post's real question is not about who is bullish or bearish, but: if a viewpoint can always be interpreted as correct, does it really have a standard for validation?
1. What does it truly mean to admit you were wrong?
#LedgerResellerSecurity #StandardCharteredRLUSD #Semiconductor sector sell-off, South Korea's KOSPI drops over 6%
The boss has something to say
South Korea's semiconductor sector crashed today. KOSPI fell over 6% intraday, breaking below 6000 points, triggering the exchange's sell-side Sidecar mechanism, pausing programmatic selling for 5 minutes. Samsung dropped 4.63%, SK Hynix fell 6.31%, with foreign investors massively net selling.
The trigger was weakness in the US semiconductor stocks overnight. The market is worried about two things: whether AI investment returns can be realized, and whether the supply-demand outlook in the memory industry will reverse. After a big run-up, once foreign capital withdraws, leverage follows to unwind.
BitMine Chairman Tom Lee proposed a transmission path. The decline in the Korean stock market may transmit to the crypto market through margin liquidations. The logic is that Korean retail and institutional investors have high leverage; when the stock market crashes, margin calls require selling liquid assets, and crypto is one of them. This logic holds, but the actual impact depends on subsequent data.
I hold long BTC positions at 83000 and short positions at 86500, hedged on both sides with light exposure. No one-sided bets before CPI release. Long stop loss at 81500, target 86000. Short stop loss at 87500, target 84500 to 85000. Whichever target is hit first, reduce that side first.
The sharp drop in South Korean semiconductors is a risk signal but not yet at the panic transmission stage. Watch margin data and foreign capital flows closely; if large liquidations start in crypto, then adjust positions.
No chasing highs, no panic selling

To put it bluntly, this isn’t selling images, it’s selling an expectation of "I help you accumulate US stocks."
But there’s a key detail: once opened, it’s irreversible.
Stocks accumulate slowly, destroyed upon redemption, you get 95%, the remaining 5% is distributed to all who have opened theirs.
This design is clever and ruthless.
It forces you to open early, forces you to lock your position, and conveniently creates a liquidity pool.
I predict a group of people will rush in attracted by the word "stocks," then realize liquidity is on OpenSea, and whether it can be cashed out is another matter.

On the afternoon of October 13, the spot price was about $1219, down about 8% in 24 hours. Today's low was 1123, high was 1337.
The daily chart hasn't turned bullish yet. The 5-day moving average is right at 1218, with the price just touching it; the 10-day at 1266 and 20-day at 1364 are both pressing from above. The high at the end of September was close to 1700, this round's low is around 1100, and today it touched 1123 again. Currently, the range is between 1123 and 1337.
The futures market is clearer: 24-hour volume is about $1.29 billion, open interest about 130 million, and the funding rate has turned negative. This means shorts are paying, not longs competing. The buy and sell orders are roughly evenly split.
Upgrades, quantum resistance, and spot ETF applications are still ongoing, but they haven't turned into buying pressure yet. Grayscale has recently seen net outflows. This drop is mainly due to leverage being flushed out, not a sudden fundamental deterioration.
If you hold coins, 1266 to 1337 is the first selling pressure zone; don't add if the daily close can't reclaim this range. If you don't hold, don't chase near 1220; wait for a pullback to 1123. If the daily close breaks below 1100, any rebound is invalidated, and the next support is at 1040. Only a daily close above and holding above 1337 counts as a bullish turn. Until then, any rise should be treated as a rebound.
Watch two dates ahead: October 14 for the US CPI, and October 20 for whether the upgrade will launch the mainnet. If the market breaks down further, ZEC will fall harder than Bitcoin.

BTC 83,589 (-0.24%, intraday spike down to 81,032 then recovered), ETH 2,528 (-1.05%), total market cap 2.83T.
Conclusion first: The whole market is rushing ahead of the CPI rebound, but the intraday drop below 81K then recovery looks more like a neckline pullback rather than a firm hold, bearish against the trend, the rebound is adding positions for shorts.
If 83,000 can’t hold this week → short on rallies above 83,000; a volume-backed move back above 87,000 invalidates the bearish case but is a risky zone to chase longs.
A spike down then recovery does not mean a firm hold, the pullback is only delayed.

#BTC与ETH现货ETF同步流出,机构需求转弱了吗? $BTC "An Air Force Medical Record: Blowing Wind on the Mountain Top for Months, Just Seeking a Big Needle to Break Free"
Patient: Mountain top wind blower. Chief complaint: $BTC, $ETH short positions trapped, short-term holding turned into long-term investment, accompanied by anxiety, insomnia, and repeatedly watching the market.
Current history: Interest rate hike expectations heat up again, inflation, oil prices, and macro pressures apply pressure in turn. Bulls dream of a bull market, bears on the mountain top have been freezing for months.
Diagnosis: Short position trapped syndrome (chronic phase).
Treatment advice: Not seeking to get rich overnight or double profits, just hoping the market shows mercy and gives another big needle. If freed, promise not to open random orders for three days.
Doctor's advice: Interest rate hike expectations ≠ market must fall, the market does not turn because individuals are trapped. Others wait for a bull market, we wait for a waterfall; others hope for new highs, we wait to break free.
This medical record seems like a joke but truly reveals the bitterness of the bears. With CPI and PPI announcements imminent, interest rate hike expectations face a test, and the long-short game heats up again. But be clear: macro data is only a catalyst, the direction never changes because someone is trapped.
Rather than blowing wind on the mountain top and repeatedly watching the market, it's better to let go of obsession and respond with light positions. The market is always there; surviving longer is the only way to qualify for your own big needle.

The recovery after the second bottoming is still ongoing, but the market looks more like an emotional repair rather than a full capital return. The price rebound is faster than the volume recovery, indicating limited willingness to chase prices.
The $BTC 90,000 level requires special attention. It is both a psychological integer level and a zone of previous transaction and holding cost exchange, where both the demand to break even and short-term profit-taking can occur simultaneously. If volume cannot expand synchronously and the price does not consistently close above this level, the probability of a false breakout remains high. Afterwards, the quality of support around 85,000 needs to be observed.
$ETH has risen from 2,600 to around 2,780, with a short-term structure looking better than before, but the previously lost important range has not been fully reclaimed, so a confirmed reversal cannot yet be claimed. The two short-term anchor points are 2,880 and 2,680. If 2,880 is not broken, weak oscillation continues; if 2,680 is lost, 2,600 may be tested again.
$SOL has rebounded from 130 to 148, following the market rhythm, but selling pressure above 155 has not significantly eased. Chasing longs at this time risks being worn down in repeated oscillations, even if the mid-term direction is ultimately correct, the holding experience may not be friendly.
In terms of operations, enter BTC after confirming it stabilizes above 90,000; decide on ETH based on reactions at 2,880 and 2,680; temporarily watch $SOL. As long as the mid-term structure is not broken, a bullish bias can be maintained.Who's dumping? It's not a single whale
The ETF's three-week bullish streak just broke, $BTC surged to 84,000 but was pushed back to 82,900 during the US stock market session. It's not that ETFs aren't buying, but marginal buying pressure can't withstand the macro sell-off. The September FOMC minutes were hawkish, with possible rate hikes later this year. As interest rate expectations rise, risk assets get their valuations suppressed first. BTC is the most sensitive; after dropping from 87,000 to 80,500, its rebound has never surpassed 84,000. Overhead resistance and short-term leverage are both being liquidated.
$ETH is even more awkward: it fell from 2,700 to 2,420, and its rebound to 2,540 stalled. It can't keep up with BTC on the upside and amplifies volatility on the downside. ETH/BTC is stuck at 0.030, with funds clearly clustering around BTC, leaving ETH without an independent narrative.
$SOL and other public chains are struggling too. The 10-year US Treasury yield is at 5.36%, the highest since 2002. With risk-free returns this high, incremental funds are reluctant to chase volatile assets, and hot narratives lose momentum.
So, the selling pressure isn't from a single operator but a combined force of rate hike expectations, US stock market risk appetite, slowing ETF inflows, and leverage stop-losses. Tomorrow night’s CPI is the decisive factor: if it hits around 3.7%, the 80,000 level will be tested again; if it’s below expectations, there’s a chance to recover 84,000. Until the data is released, tug-of-war remains the main theme.

#交易之声:你的经验值得被听到 BTC and ETH spot ETFs are flowing out simultaneously, is institutional demand weakening? #BTC and ETH spot ETFs are flowing out simultaneously, is institutional demand weakening?
Recently, BTC and ETH spot ETFs have both seen capital outflows, causing many to panic and wonder if institutions are starting to retreat and if the market will weaken directly.
But we can't draw conclusions based on just one or two days of data. Short-term capital flight is often institutions cashing in recent unrealized gains, which is profit-taking and does not equal a long-term bearish outlook.
We need to distinguish between short-term trading behavior and long-term allocation strategies. Only if there are large outflows over multiple days does it truly indicate a shift in institutional sentiment; single-day or brief outflows only show that the divergence between bulls and bears is increasing.
ETF funds are an important indicator for observing market trends, but they are not the only trading signal. The market can be disturbed by news at any time, and sudden spikes to shake out positions are also common.
For small investors like us, don't blindly cut positions or heavily short just because of capital outflows. First, observe whether the funds can flow back, patiently wait for certainty, and controlling position size should always take priority over betting on direction.
Opportunities are always there, but the principal cannot withstand several large drawdowns.🌍 $BTC spiked down to 80,985 this morning, then pulled back to 83,600: Four global data points reveal who's pressuring it

$BTC $ETH Leveraged longs got crushed today 😵
Yesterday, before the US stock market even opened, the crypto market was already down on its knees. Once the US market opened, selling pressure intensified, and the scene got pretty ugly.
In the past 24 hours, the entire network saw liquidations totaling $785 million, with longs accounting for 88% — on average, 9 longs went down for every 1 short. BTC liquidations hit $165 million, ETH $167 million, and SOL over $60 million. Leveraged longs were collectively taken out (╥﹏╥)
Key levels:
· $BTC low at 81,032, just $632 above the previous low of 80,400
· $ETH broke below 2500, hitting a low of 2,409
· $SOL low at 101, with the 100 mark right ahead
The most dangerous thing isn’t the drop itself, but the negative feedback loop of “price drop → liquidations → intensified selling pressure.” Once the cascade of forced liquidations starts, prices are driven by leverage rather than fundamentals for the time being.
That said, liquidation data ≠ spot market exit, and definitely ≠ a bottom signal. After contracts are cleaned out, the spot market will still do what it’s going to do. Calling a bottom now is almost like catching a flying knife 🗡️

As of the week ending October 9, 2026, the overall data remains cautious: investment products for BTC, ETH, and SOL all experienced net outflows. Although BTC saw a net inflow on Friday, the scale was insufficient to reverse the capital flow trend for the entire week.

$APT Trade Management & Patience — $W Case Study*
Opened a $W position and left it unattended. Returned to find it up over 220% — effectively tripled.
Had I taken a 50% partial early, I would have likely exited prematurely. This outcome reinforces a key principle I follow: unexpected gains often come from disciplined inaction.
Key takeaways:
1. Over-management can hurt profitability
2. Patience is often more valuable than constant technical adjustments
3. Define risk (SL), define target trading "The Illusion of a Rebound"
Weekend $ETH trading is like a darkened trading hall—thin liquidity, with a few bullish candles lighting up market sentiment. After two days of rebound, bulls immediately shout that the bull market is back, as if forgetting that liquidity is the oxygen of the market. But in the pre-market trading before the official opening of the US stock market, the crypto circle collectively weakened first—this is just a rehearsal; if there is a real crash during the session, that will be the true test."My Current Three Moves" 💡
Bitcoin is still hovering around 83,000, the adjustment isn't over yet. I've reserved my bullets for below 80,000; if it really drops there, I'll go all in. The bull market isn't over; this pullback feels more like a shakeout. After buying, I'll reduce positions around 7.8 as planned. ⏳
I'm not chasing SPCX for now. Elon Musk is hyping SpaceX's valuation to 1 quadrillion, sounds exciting, but 167 is not cheap. If I want to add, I'll wait for a pullback; chips bought at the bottom are locked in, no moving. 🚀
Storage is starting to look attractive. Micron is around 1,030, HBM demand is very strong, next year's supply is basically locked in, and contract prices are still rising. SanDisk is between 1,580–1,640, Citibank's target is 2,100, NAND shortages might last until 2028. 📦
My approach: gradually shift storage positions to SanDisk. Buy in batches on dips, don't chase highs.
So, are you guys going to lay in storage now, or wait a bit longer for a better price? 🤔$SOL is bearish in the short term, currently priced at 108.52, next testing the low of 101.56. Long positions worth 26.29 million USD were liquidated in 24 hours, with only 820 trades, indicating large position longs. Short positions had 1,560 trades but only 7.52 million USD, showing small position shorts being swept during the rebound. Leverage is being squeezed out. The amplitude is 11.3% but it closed down 3.21%, the rebound did not hold. There are still 930 million USD in open interest pressing down; if the price drops further, remaining longs will have to reduce. Funding rates for all three periods are positive but very small, just background info. The higher highs on the chart represent a larger structure that hasn't broken yet. However, the 7/25/99 moving averages are already in a bearish alignment, and the price has fallen below them. The forced liquidations of longs are causing selling pressure faster than that structure. I don't expect 101.56 to hold; a new low will emerge. The condition for a bullish reversal: price must reclaim above 113.07, otherwise this view is invalid. On the eve of the CPI data release, can gold still be chased?
Gold is currently consolidating around 4200, with the price basically unchanged throughout the day. The US dollar index has surged to an 18-month high, and the market is still betting on another rate hike by the end of the year. The Middle East conflict is also supporting inflation, leaving gold prices stuck in a difficult position between the two.
Technically, on the 4-hour chart, 4220 is a strong resistance level; it has been tested several times but not held firmly. The support below is at 4110; if broken, the next target is the 4000 mark.
Market logic: Gold has already fallen quite a bit recently, but gold ETFs saw a frenzy of inflows in Q3, and central banks worldwide continue to buy gold, so a direct sharp drop is unlikely. Key upcoming events to watch are: Wednesday's CPI, Thursday's PPI and retail data, and Friday's Fed official Wash's speech.
Simple scenario: If CPI data is moderate, gold has a chance to break through 4220; if CPI data is high, gold will likely fall back to 4110, and if that support fails, it will head straight to 4000.
The blogger leans bearish, not chasing longs near 4220 on rebounds. Only if CPI clearly weakens and gold decisively breaks and holds above 4220 will the view change.
